About

Βλογάπη (why the name?) exists to glorify God by stirring up a certain segment of His children—most likely seminary students—to love and good works.

My name is Mark L. Ward, Jr., and I’m just out of seminary myself. In May of 2011 I successfully defended my dissertation for a Ph.D. in New Testament Interpretation at Bob Jones Seminary. My dissertation was entitled, “Paul’s Positive Religious Affections” (I ran out of space for the negative ones…).

My job is a wonderful gift from God. I’m a Bible textbook author at BJU Press. After wrapping up the OT portion of the new Bible Reading Program (sample), I rewrote almost all of the 12th grade Bible textbook then wrote a large section on the Sermon on the Mount for the 7th grade book. I am now rewriting the 8th grade student book, a redemptive-historical tour through the Old Testament.

I attend Mount Calvary Baptist Church, where the Lord has given me the wonderful opportunity to get involved in almost all our evangelism ministries. I’m an Undershepherd in Training, with particular ministry focus on Neighborhood Bible Class (a special weekly outreach to our beloved but depressed community). I also help coordinate our weekly visitation ministry.

I got to know my lovely, godly, Proverbs 31 wife in Italy, Switzerland, Germany, Poland, and Lithuania on the 2006 Musical Mission Team. We got married two years to the day after we left on that trip.

On March 3, 2010, our family increased by 50%.

On October 26, 2011, our family increased again by 33⅓% (see below).

My interests include choral music, graphic design, photography, ultimate frisbee, and calligraphy.
